The 301 stainless steel is a kind of metastable austenitic stainless steel with complete austenitic structure under the condition of full solid solution.
301 is the most easily cold deformation strengthening steel grade of stainless steel, the strength and hardness of steel can be improved by cold deformation processing, and retain enough plastic and toughness. In addition, this steel has good rust resistance under atmospheric conditions, but in reducing medium, the corrosion resistance is not good enough, in acid, alkali, salt and other chemical medium, the corrosion resistance is poor, therefore, it is not recommended for harsh corrosion environment.
301 is mainly used in the cold processing state to bear higher load, and hope to reduce the equipment weight and rust free equipment parts. In addition, when the steel is hit by external force, it is easy to produce work hardening and absorb more impact energy, which will provide more reliable security for equipment and personnel.

L represents low carbon. For example, 304L has lower carbon content than 304.
H and S stand for high temperature resistance, such as 310S has better high temperature resistance than 310, 304H has better heat resistance than 304.
