SUS444 (00Cr18Mo2) is an ultra-low carbon nitrogen, containing 18% chromium and 2% molybdenum, high corrosion resistance ferritic stainless steel.
The steel is usually stabilized with niobium or titanium to avoid intergranular corrosion after welding. The steel is particularly suitable for various water treatment devices.
444 Chemical Composition:
The yield strength of 444 is 1.5 times that of carbon steel and 6 times that of fiberglass. It has excellent and benign characteristics for shock resistance, snow resistance, wind pressure resistance and impact resistance.
SUS444 ferritic stainless steel has high thermal conductivity, about 130% ~ 150% of that of chromium-nickel austenitic stainless steel, which is very suitable for heat exchange.
The steel has good plasticity and toughness, and is suitable for drawing, rolling forming and stamping manufacturing. After adding Ti, Mo and other elements., the performance of hole and crevice corrosion resistance was improved. The steel can be welded by welding ordinary stainless steel. The steel is especially suitable for food processing equipment, heat exchangers, water heater tanks, water storage tanks, solar energy collection panels, etc.

1.The content of chromium is about 1.0% higher, and the alloy element molybdenum (Mo) is added. Therefore, this steel type has good corrosion resistance to pitting, crevelling and stress corrosion, and its corrosion resistance is even better than SUS304 and SUS316 in some fields.
2.Titanium (Ti), niobium (Nb), zirconium (Zr) and other stabilizing elements are added, so the steel has good resistance to intergranular corrosion and high temperature oxidation.
